PURPOSE: To provide the titled composition which has high fluidity sufficient for pipeline transport and is suitable for supply to combustion equipment, prepared by dispersing finely powdered pitch homogeneously in water by use of a nonionic surfactant.

CONSTITUTION: The composition is prepared by dispersing finely powdered pitch with a melting point of 50W180°C homogeneously in water by the use of at least one nonionic surfactant selected from among polyoxyethylene.sorbitan mono- fatty acid ester, polyoxyethylene.sorbitol mono-fatty acid ester, polyoxyethylene alkylphenyl ether, polyoxyethylene/polyoxypropylene block copolymer, PVA, starch, guar gum, etc. The pitch is a heavy residue obtained by distillation of petroleum or an oil-containing heavy residue obtained by distillation of tar from dry distillation of coal. The slurry composition has low viscosity and high fluidity, can be transported through pipeline under stabilized condition and is suitable for supply to combustion equipment.
