PURPOSE: To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body having high optical responsiveness, superior wear resistance and a long service life by using a resin binder obtd. by polymerizing a compsn. contg. a thermoplastic resin and a polymerizable monomer or further contg. a catalyst for polymn. of the monomer as a component forming a photo-sensitive layer.
CONSTITUTION: A polymerizable monomer having one or more polymerizable double bonds in the molecule is impregnated into a thermoplastic resin, mixed with the resin, dissolved or dispersed in the resin and is polymerized optionally in the presence of a catalyst for polymn. of the monomer to obtain a resin binder and this binder is used as a component forming a photosensitive layer. When the photosensitive layer is formed, the thermoplastic resin and a component obtd. by polymerizing the monomer hardly cause phase separation and a sensitive body having high performance, improved light responsiveness and wear resistance is produced.
