Title:
LOW-PRESSURE MERCURY VAPOR DISCHARGE LAMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6039753
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the breakage of a bulb during the production process even if it is held from any direction by facing both leg sections of a U-shaped bulb in close contact with each other when forming a U-shaped discharge path.

CONSTITUTION: Two straight tubes made of soda glass and provided with a phosphor layer 4 inside are arranged in parallel, both ends are airtightly connected together, insides are communicated to form a U-shaped bulb 1, end sections 1a', 1b' of both legs 1a, 1b of the bulb 1 are brought nearly into contact at a gap 31 of 0W0.8mm between them, a U-shaped discharge path is obtained, and a small-sized fluorescent lamp is formed. Therefore, even if the connecting section 2a of the bulb is elastically deformed due to the outside of the end sections 1a', 1b' of both legs, the outside force is encountered by the contact section, thereby the breakage of the connecting section 2a can be prevented, the lamp can be easily held, and the production device can be simplified.
