Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent smoking and firing resulting from overcurrent or electric discharge by heating a thermal fuse with the heat from an applicable apparatus and actuating it in the event of heat emission therefrom due to overcurrent; and allowing an aux. circuit to receive electromagnetic waves generated with discharging in the event of abnormal discharge at the insulation of the apparatus, and thereupon permitting current to flow in a resistor, and actuating the thermal fuse with heating by the heat emitted from this resistance. CONSTITUTION:A thermal fuse 4 equipped with a resistor H is installed in a place easily emitting heat when an applicable electric apparatus is in overcurrent, and an antenna AT is connected with an aux. circuit. When overcurrent flows through the apparatus to cause heat emission therefrom, the generated heat blows off the fuse 4 to shut current feed to the apparatus. Even though, on the other hand, cracks are initiated in the insulation of the apparatus by intruded oil or thermal stress due to temp. change to cause generation of electric discharge at cracks, the electromagnetic waves radiated by discharging are received by the antenna AT, and the received waves are transmitted to the aux. circuit. Thus a current flows with this transmission signal as gate pulse, and the resistor H emits heat, which off the fuse 4 to shut off current feed to the apparatus. Thereby smoking and firing resulting from overcurrent or electric discharge can be prevented.
