Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a device for removing impurities in air wherein gaseous impurities can be removed with a high degree of efficiency while the humidity of air to be treated is being maintained at a predetermined level. CONSTITUTION:Before gaseous impurities are treated by an impurity removing means 5, the impurity-containing air is cooled and dehumidified to a predetermined dew-point temp. by a cooling means 4 to produce a water saturated air. As a result, since the amount of water in the air is saturated at a gas-liquid contact time, the water does not move between the gas and the liquid and, therefore, the gaseous impurities can be removed without changing the amount of water in the air to be treated. Moreover, the temp. of a liquid substance for making contact with the air to be treated is regulated by a temp. regulating means so as to be nearly equal to the dew-point temp. of the air, whereby the movement of the water between the gas and the liquid can be avoided effectively. If an ionized gaseous impurity removing device or a removing device for making contact between a charged mist and the gaseous impurities is additionally installed as a pre-treating device, a higher removing efficiency can be attained continuously.
