Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To charge plastic pieces effectively in the pretreatment of an electrostatic separator. SOLUTION: An apparatus is constituted from a cylindrical charging container 3 which is covered with standard plastic the inner surface of which is at an intermediate position in an electrification rank, a resin supply means 4 for supplying plastic pieces into the container 3 from a supply port 3b, and a revolving contact means 5 which turns the plastic pieces supplied into the container by the supply means 4 to contact them frictionally with the inner surface of the container 3 so that the pieces are charged corresponding to their electrification rank. The plastic pieces superior to standard plastic in the electrification rank are charged positively, while those inferior in the electrification rank are charged negatively.
