CONSTITUTION: A thin-wall thickness part 44c is provided on a sensor side lever 44b of a sheet material remainder detection lever 44 and when current value of light quantity in a transmission photomicro-sensor 45 for transmitting the thin-wall thickness part 44c reaches a prescribed value, the thickness and position of the thin-wall thickness part 44c is appropriately set so that the remainder of loaded sheet materials P is detected to be, for example, 100 sheets. If the device is so constituted that the remainder of the loaded sheet materials P is detected to be a few, the effect is informed to users by notification means such as lighting of a lamp or the like so as to urge supply of sheet materials. Therefore, just like in the cases of communication devices such as facsimiles, when power sheet supply is always put on and a user is not near the device, it can evade such a state of lacking in sheet materials.
