Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simplify a connection mechanism and improve reliability in the unfolding truss structure like a space craft by fitting a fit part on the tip of a rod member in fit receiving part provided in the structure with tension given to a flexible string body extending axially through the fit part. CONSTITUTION:A conical fit part 14 constituting a connecting mechanism 3 is formed on the tip of a rod member 2a. On the other hand, a main body 12 is provided with a conical fit receiving part 15 for receiving the fit part 14. A wire 18 is inserted axially through the fit part 14 and fit receiving part 15 and energized in tension by a spring 10. Thus, the wire 18 pulls the rod 2a toward the main body 12 side by an energizing force of the spring 20 to fit the fit part 14 of the rod 20 in the fit receiving part 15 of the main body 12 and keep the connecting state. When the rod 2a is drawn and the spring 20 is compressed to withdraw the rod 2a from the fit receiving part 15, the rod 2a is connected to the connecting mechanism 3 only by the wire 18 to make the rod 2a pivotable.
