The thermal relay, equipped with a main bimetal, an adjustment link 5 to follow displacement of a shifter coupled with a free end of the main bimetal, and a reversal mechanism 6 for contact switching driven by the adjustment link 5, is to detect overcurrent by coupling a compensating bimetal 5a with a base end of the adjustment link 5, providing an adjustment dial 7 to carry out adjustment of the set current at the tip side of the adjustment link 5, and switching contacts in response to a current set value of the adjustment dial 7. One end of an operating rod 16 is rotatably mounted on a case, the adjustment link 5 is rotatably retained to the other end of the operating rod 16, the case and the adjustment link 5 are coupled by the operating rod 16, a tension spring 8 is pressed by rotating the operating rod 16 in a direction orthogonal to the tension spring 8 of the reversal mechanism 6, and the reversal mechanism 6 is made to operate.
