To provide a nursing-care handrail which can be used as both side handrails or a one-side handrail so that a user can go up and down while facing the front, and which has a tension rod stably placed on a floor without looseness.

This nursing-care handrail with the tension rod includes handrail portions, strut portions, and a base. The strut portions are erected on both the sides of the base. The handrail portions are provided on the upper sides of the strut portions. The base is attachable to and detachable from the strut portions and the handrail portions, thereby the handrail can be used as both side handrails or the one-side handrail. Height is vertically adjustable between a handrail stay and a strut and/or between the strut and a stay, and also the attachable/detachable tension rod with adjustable length is mounted to the base as a movement prevention means, thereby stably fixing the handrail.
