Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of compressor without subject to the thermal influence in the engine room, by cooling the outer air to be fed to the compressor in a turbo-charger positively by means of an inter-cooler arranged in an inlet duct.

CONSTITUTION: The outer-air led into an outer-air lead-in duct 7 is cooled positively when passing through the outercircumference of an inter-cooler 10 at the large diameter section 7a. Then it is led through an air flow meter 8 to the compressor 6 of a turbo-charger 4. The pressurized air which is compressed adiabatically to rise the temperature is fed through an inlet duct 9 into an intake manifold 2. It is cooled when passing through the inter-cooler 10.
