Title:
SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNETICALLY PROPELLED TRAIN AND VEHICLES THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03178504
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To miniaturize levitation ground coils by providing not less than one superconductive coil for propelling a vehicle relative to a track and not less than one levitation wing on the body of the vehicle moving on the track having a plurality of track coils.

CONSTITUTION: Many propulsion guide ground coils 10 are vertically mounted in the longitudinal direction of guideways 11 on both sides of a track 12. Not less than one superconductive coil 4 is mounted on both sides of an underframe 3 mounted on the lower part of a body 2 via air spring 5 corresponding to the ground coils 10 and propels a vehicle. The underframe 3 is provided with wheels 6 to be used before levitation and auxiliary guide wheels 8 and with brake shoes 7. Levitation ground coils 9 are provided on both sides of the track 12. Also, the top of the body 2 is provided with not less than one levitation wing 1. The levitation wing 1 is variable in the inclination relative to the body 2 and in the area and further pivotable around the vertical axis of the levitation wing 1. Thus, the levitation ground coils 9 are miniaturized or omitted so that a speed control is performed easily.
