Abstract:

To improve the erosion resistance of a valve seat surface as well as the wear resistance.

A stellite No.6 powder is mixed and crushed by mechanical alloying (MA), and electric discharge plasma sintering (SPS) is performed by using an electric discharge plasma sintering machine under the sintering conditions of 950 to 1050°C heating temperature, 3 to 10 min heating time, and (300 to 1,000) kgf/cm2 compacting pressure to form a stellite No.6 sintered material of annular shape. This annular stellite No.6 sintered material is stuck to a valve body 1 by proper means, and a valve seat surface 1a of the valve body 1 is constituted of the stellite No.6 sintered material.
