Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device which achieves reduction of the number of components and improvement of the assemblability.SOLUTION: A steering device 1 includes: a rack housing 3 which houses a rack shaft 2 and a teeth part 60 of a pinion shaft 6; a worm housing 4 having a cylindrical part 40 which houses a worm wheel 140 of a speed reduction mechanism 14, and a protruding part 44 protruding from an outer peripheral surface 40a of the cylindrical part 40; and a cover member 5 which closes an opening of the cylindrical part 40 in the worm housing 4. The cover member 5 has: a discoid lid part 50 having a facing surface 50a facing an opening end surface 40b of the worm housing 4; a cylinder part 51 which extends from an outer peripheral end part of the lid part 50 in an axial direction of the cylindrical part 40 in the worm housing 4 and has an inner peripheral surface 51a facing the outer peripheral surface 40a of the cylindrical part 40; and an engagement part 52 which is provided at the inner periphery side of the cylinder part 51, engages with the protruding part 44 of the cylindrical part 40, and may elastically deform.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
