Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a steel material which is excellent in peelability of an oxide film after gas cutting and hardly produces slag.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for manufacturing a steel material by simultaneously spraying oxygen gas for cutting and preheating fuel gas onto the surface of a steel raw material from a nozzle using a gas cutting machine having the nozzle and thereby cutting the steel raw material, in which the gas cutting machine includes an oxygen purity maintenance mechanism for maintaining oxygen purity of the oxygen gas for cutting that is sprayed onto the surface of the steel raw material, the oxygen purity maintenance mechanism has an oxygen gas jetting port for cutting, an auxiliary oxygen gas jetting port and a preheating fuel gas jetting port, provided in a radial direction in order from the shaft center of the nozzle, and the steel material contains, by mass%, 0.25% or less Si.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
