To provide a spiral type membrane element which hardly causes membrane separation owing to a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape in a bending part and which does not need to repair defects owing to the separation in the post-treatment.
The spiral-type membrane element comprises a cylindrical roll R obtained by spirally rolling a separation membrane 1, a supply side flow channel material 2, and a transmission side flow channel material 3 in layered state on the circumference of a center pipe 5 and a sealing part for preventing contamination of a supply side fluid and a transmission side fluid. The separation membrane 1 has a bent part in the end part of the inner circumferential side so as to pinch the supply side flow channel material 2 and a pressure-sensitive adhesive is stuck along the inner face of the bent part and the load of the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape per 20 mm width in the case of 10% elongation is 35% or lower of the load of the separation membrane 1 per 20 mm width in the case of 10% elongation.
