Title:
SPECTACLE FRAME HAVING SCALENE HINGE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2838491
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a spectacle frame of which bow side temples do not operate to open and close merely in a horizontal direction but operates to open and close in a vertical component direction as well.
CONSTITUTION: A turning shaft of a hinge means 5 which freely turnably hinges the temple 6 to a spectacle front F is so formed as to be diagonally or horizontally on a bisected hinge plane γ formed by approximately bisecting a dihedral angle formed by a virtual front plane Θ passing the front F and a virtual temple plane β passing the temple 6 of an expanded state. Then, the temple 6 moves in the vertical component direction so as to draw a conical locus and, therefore, even if external force acts on the temple from any direction, the hinge part does not concentrate the external force to spectacle front parts and can disperse the external force over the entire part of the frame.
