Abstract:
The method involves providing a metal base (10) made of a first material e.g. titanium or/and a first titanium alloy, and a metal covering plate (20) made of a second material e.g. metal such as gold and platinum and/or a gold or platinum alloy, where the plate has thickness (E) of 0.5 mm or more. The covering plate is brazed to the base by a braze used for brazing titanium with gold or platinum in order to form a bimetal ebauche. The ebauche is shaped and/or machined in order to provide final shape to an exterior component (100). An independent claim is also included for an exterior component of a timepiece.
