Abstract:
To provide a sliding bearing capable of improving hardness of a sliding surface while maintaining toughness of the sliding surface.SOLUTION: A sliding bearing is made of pure titanium or a titanium alloy. The sliding bearing includes: a diffusion layer in which oxygen is in a solid solution state; and a scale of titanium oxide coming into contact with the diffusion layer and constituting the sliding surface. The thickness of the scale is equal to or less than 0.015 mm. The oxygen concentration in the diffusion layer is equal to or greater than 0.99 mass% at a position where a distance from the sliding surface is 0.1 mm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
