Abstract:
To provide a sliding member capable of reducing friction and maintaining the state thereof for a long time, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A sliding member 10 includes a base material 1 made of steel and a metal layer 2 formed on the surface of the base material 1. A surface layer portion of the base material 1 has a dispersion layer 1b including Cu-containing metal particles 1a having a diameter of 0.01 μm to 2.0 mm and dispersed at a number density of 50.0/cmor more; the thickness of the dispersion layer 1b is 20.0-2000 μm; the metal particles 1a are pure Cu and/or Cu alloy; the metal layer 2 is pure Cu or Cu alloy and has a thickness of 5.0 nm or more; the pure Cu includes Cu of 95 mass% or more; and the Cu alloy including Cu and one or two kinds selected from Zn and Sn has a Cu content of 80 mass% or more and a total Cu, Zn and Sn content of 90% or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
