To provide a slide member for automobile engine which has a low friction coefficient and an excellent wear resistance together and is provided with a prescribed composite material plated layer on the surface, and to provide a method of manufacturing the slide member and a plating solution used therefor.
The slide member for automobile is provided with the member for automobile engine and the composite plated film formed at least on a part of the surface of the member for automobile engine and containing nanocarbon and aluminum, wherein ≥80% of the nanocarbon is incorporated in the composite plated film so that a direction orthogonal to the film thickness direction of the composite material plated film isalmost matched with the longitudinal direction of the carbon. In the method of manufacturing the slide member for automobile engine, the slide member for automobile engine is plated using the plating solution for forming the composite material plated film under an electrolysis condition of 0-300°C bath temperature and 0.01-50 A/dm2 current density in a dry oxygen atmosphere while passing DC current or the like.
