To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material having ultrahigh contrast and excellent in scuffing, wear and stain resistances by incorporating a urethane latex, a fluorine-containing surfactant and a lubricant into the outermost one of constituent layers.
A urethane latex, a fluorine-containing surfactant and a lubricant are incorporated into the outermost layer of a silver halide photographic sensitive material having many constituent layers, in particular the outermost one of the constituent layers on the silver halide emulsion layer side. The urethane latex may be obtained by providing organic acid groups such as organic carboxylic acid or sulfonic acid groups to the ends of each molecule of polyurethane formed from a polyisocyanate and a polyol so as to impart water dispersibility. The fluorine-containing surfactant may be a compound having a 2-20C hydrocarbon chain entirely or partially substituted by fluorine atoms and a hydrophilic group such as an anionic group of a metallic salt. The lubricant may be a known silicone lubricant.
