To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material with a film free from transparency reduction and sticking and not causing the falling of a matting agent from the surface in processing by incorporating fine particles formed from fibers and carrying out hardening with a vinylsulfone type hardening agent.
The silver halide photographic sensitive material contains fine particles formed from fibers and is hardened with a vinylsulfone type hardening agent. The fine particles preferably have 3.0-20% moisture absorption coefficient at 20°C and 65% RH or 8-40% moisture absorption coefficient at 20°C and 95% RH. It is preferable that the moisture absorption coefficient of the fine particles is equal to that of a binder used because the fine particles can have fitness for the binder and become hardly releasable from the binder. The vinylsulfone type hardening agent is a compound having a vinyl group combined with a sulfonyl group or a group capable of forming a vinyl group, having preferably at least two vinyl groups combined with a sulfonyl group or at least two groups capable of forming vinyl groups.
