Abstract:

To provide a shoe hold-down device capable of being assembled in a drum brake effectively and easily without using an auxiliary tool, etc.

Since a tip part of a plate section 50a includes a swash plate part 50f formed toward a shoe web 34 side as extending from the tip part, and a retaining hole 50g bored in the swash plate part 50f, and retained by guiding the tip of a plate section 50b to the swash plate section 50f inner surface when the plate sections 50a, 50b are brought into contact each other, an operator makes the plate sections 50a, 50b approach each other, so that the tip of the plate section 50b is retained in the retaining hole 50g and the plate sections 50a, 50b are held in a close state with each other. Thereafter, the tip end part 52a is engaged with the plate section 50a, and the tip end part of the plate section 50b is disengaged from the retaining hole 50g, so that the shoe hold-down device 46 is installed, and thus both pressing operation for pressing the plate section and engaging operation for engaging the tip end part 52a with the plate section 50a are not required to be executed at the same time, as in the case of the conventional device.
