PURPOSE: To restrain the nose-dive of a vehicle, by controlling the drive of an actuator in such a way that damping force is changed into its large value from its small value with a depressing speed of a brake, which becomes lower as the vehicle speed becomes higher.
CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer 1 receives a vehicle speed from a vehicle speed sensor 2 and a depressed amount of a brake from a stroke sensor 3. The microcomputer 1 computes the vehicle speed and the depressing speed of the brake, and compares a value which is obtained from a damping force change-over curve that is the function of a vehicle speed, with the computed brake depressing amount. The computer delivers control signals to drive control circuits 10 through 13 so that damping force is changed from its large value to its small value with a depressing speed which is lower as the vehicle speed is higher. With this arrangement shock-absorbers may be controlled, suitably for the travelling condition of the vehicle to restrain the nose-dive of the vehicle.
