PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jacking method that is used for laying pipes for transporting fluid used for city water, gas, sewerage, or the like under ground, secures a sufficient telescopic amount in the occurrence of earthquake or the like, and can prevent the intrusion of a grout material into a coupling.
SOLUTION: In this jacking method, a duct is newly formed in a sheath pipe while the insert hole of a pipe is inserted into and connected to a receiving hole formed in the back end of a precedent pipe. A flange facing to the end of the receiving hole at a predetermined interval is fixed to the outer periphery of the insert hole of the pipe, a jacking force transmitting member capable of transmitting a jacking force is interposed in a clearance between the flange and the end of the receiving hole, a protective ring for preventing the intrusion of a foreign matter into the coupling is disposed between the jacking force transmitting member and the end of the receiving hole, and the pipe is jacked in the axial direction while transmitting the jacking force to a precedent pipe via the jacking force transmitting member and the protective ring. After the ewtion of the jacking, the jacking force transmitting member contracts or collapses to provide a connecting state capable of contracting the insert hole and the receiving hole.
