Abstract:
To prevent a welded portion of a retainer incorporated in a self-aligning roller bearing, from being kept into contact with an end face of a roller.SOLUTION: A self-aligning roller bearing 1 includes an outer ring 10, an inner ring 20, a plurality of rollers 30 incorporated between a raceway surface 11 and a raceway surface 21, and a retainer 40 for retaining the plurality of rollers 30 at intervals in a circumferential direction. The retainer 40 has an annular portion 41 having a welded portion 41a obtained by joining butted portions of a bent belt-like material, a plurality of first pillar portions 42 and second pillar portions 43 projecting from both end faces of the annular portion 41, and a plurality of pockets 44 respectively formed between the first pillar portions 42 and between the second pillar portions 43. A depth of the pocket 44 matched to the welded portion 41a at a circumferential position, is deeper than the other pockets 44.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
