Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable intake device in which a seal member made of synthetic resin and having a pair of circular-arc shaped seal parts which may become like a ring and a pair of barlike seal parts connecting both circular-arc shaped seal parts is mounted in a mounting groove at outer periphery of a rotary valve and a seal face bringing the barlike seal part into contact and a back part side face opposing to the barlike seal part from the opposite side to the seal face along peripheral direction of the rotary valve are formed in a linear groove part fitting both barlike seal parts among the mounting grooves to maintain seal effect of the seal member in the peripheral direction of the rotary valve even if a pressure wave in air suction pulsation acts on the seal member.
SOLUTION: Protruding bars 46 protruding onto one side are integrally provided by extending along the longitudinal direction of the barlike seal part 42A in at least either of the barlike seal part 42A or the back part side face 45b.
