Abstract:
To obtain a photographic element with a formed image and with a protective overcoat on the top of an overcoat.
A protective overcoat is formed before a photographic element with at least one silver halide photosensitive emulsion layer is provided. A 1st coating with 30-95 wt.% hydrophobic polymer particles having 0.01-1 μm average particle size and 55-200°C melting temperature is formed as a 1st layer on the silver halide photosensitive emulsion layer. A 2nd coating of wear resistant particles having 0.01-1 μm average particle size is formed as a 2nd layer on the 1st layer. The photographic element is developed and a photographic element with a formed image is provided. The 1st and 2nd layers are fused to form the protective overcoat.
