Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary damper capable of decreasing power consumption when target attenuation force is obtained by changing initial attenuation force.SOLUTION: A rotary damper is equipped with: a case 3 made from a magnetic body; a rotator 5 made from a magnetic body which is arranged so as to relatively rotate in the case 3; a working fluid F which is stored in the case 3, is interposed between the case 3 and the rotator 5, and increases viscosity when a magnetic flux passes through; a supporting portion 19 which is protrusively provided into the case 3 at an axis portion of the case 3; an electromagnetic coil 7 attached on a supporting surface 19c on an outer periphery of the supporting portion 19; and a permanent magnet 9 which configures a part of the supporting portion 19. The permanent magnet 9 forms an initial magnetic flux M1 of a magnetic flux passing through the working fluid F through the supporting portion 19, and the electromagnetic coil 7 forms a control magnetic flux M2 cancelled or attached with regard to the initial magnetic flux M1 by energization through the supporting portion 19, thereby adjusting an actual magnetic flux acted on the working fluid F.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
