Abstract:
To solve the problem that high braking power is hard to be obtained if a diameter is reduced in a conventional brake utilizing shear resistance of a fluid although burning is hard to occur, mild control power is presented and operation sound is quiet as well in a brake using a fluid.SOLUTION: A flow rate of a fluid sucked and extruded by rotating a screw shaft is regulated by a flow rate regulating valve, rotation resistance of the screw shaft is changed, and braking power is generated in a rotary shaft. The fluid is utilized while being circulated. An ER fluid or an MR fluid capable of changing viscosity in accordance with the strength of an electric field or a magnetic field is used as a fluid, thereby realizing a rotary shaft type fluid brake in which the braking power is improved further and which improves responsiveness and simplifies a structure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
