PURPOSE: To provide a rotary cutter with a rotation roll which can be easily manufactured, and has a long-lived cutter, and can be reduced in vibration and noise.

CONSTITUTION: A rotary cutter with a rotation roll is composed of a rotary cutter 30 rotatably provided with a rotating shaft 8 fittedly attached to a cylindrical rotor 1 whose outer peripheral section is fixedly provided with plural number of cutters at equal intervals through a tapered block 4, and a rotation roll 20 rotatably provided with a cylindrical roll 2 fittedly attached to a rotating shaft 7 opposite to the rotary cutter 30. The roll 2 is made of die steel, and quenched to hardness necessary for wear resistance at the time of cutting work. The rotation roll 20 is rotated through a free or gearing drive, and a brake for braking the rotation of the rotation roll 20 is provided at the axial end of the rotating shaft 7. Thus material 6 to be cut is fed in a Cdirection, and cut between the tip part P of a cutting edge and the outer peripheral face of the roll 2.
