Abstract:
To provide a rolling bearing unit for supporting a wheel and its assembling method, capable of having a loading capacity to a large moment load and high moment rigidity, and achieving easy assembling.SOLUTION: A rolling bearing unit for supporting a wheel includes: a plurality of balls respectively rollably disposed between a first outer ring raceway and a first inner ring raceway, and between a second outer ring raceway and a second inner ring raceway, and respectively constituting first and second ball rows; and a plurality of cylindrical rollers positioned between the first and second ball rows in an axial direction, respectively rollably disposed between a third outer ring raceway and a third inner ring raceway, and constituting a cylindrical roller row. Step portions for restricting axial movement of the cylindrical rollers, are disposed on an inner peripheral face of the outer ring at least at an axial one side of the third outer ring raceway, and the cylindrical roller row is assembled to the outer ring in a state of exhibiting keystone effect.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
