PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll supporting member of excellent productivity which is thin-walled even when formed with resin of less strength, and strong against shocks.
SOLUTION: The roll supporting member is used to suspend a roll-like recording material rolled around a core in a packaging box, and comprises a square and thick flange portion with four corners cut off, and a cylindrical protruded fit-in portion which is fitted in one end of the core at a substantially center of the flange portion. The flange portion and the fit-in portion are integrated with each other. The side of the flange portion from which the fit-in portion is protruded forms a flat surface. Ribs to form a plurality of energy absorption spaces are provided on the side opposite to the flat surface of the flange portion, and the height of an outer circumferential surface of the flange portion is not larger than that of the outer circumferential surface.
