Abstract:
To provide a retainer for a self-aligning roller bearing capable of reducing stress generated on an annular portion having a welded portion, in operating the self-aligning roller bearing.SOLUTION: A self-aligning roller bearing includes an annular portion 12 composed of an annular belt-like metallic member, and having a welded portion 13 obtained by joining both end portions of the metallic member, pillar portions 14 extended from the annular portion 12 to one side in an axial direction at intervals in a circumferential direction, and a plurality of pocket portions 15 respectively formed by the adjacent pillar portions 14 and the annular portion 12. The pocket portions 15 have a welded portion-side pocket portion 16 where the welded portion 13 is positioned at the annular portion 12, and a plurality of non-welded portion-side pocket portions 17 where the welded portion 13 is not positioned at the annular portion 12, and a first pocket clearance A1 of the welded portion-side pocket portion 16 is determined to be larger than second pocket clearances A2 of the non-welded portion-side pocket portions 17.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
