Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for separating tritium water efficiently from contaminated water, thereby to remove tritium from the contaminated water.SOLUTION: A device comprises: a sprinkler 2 for sprinkling contaminated water containing tritium water; and a cooling surface having an ice making coil 3 in which a coolant flows. The cooling surface of the ice making coil 3 is adjusted to a temperature at which the tritium water is frozen to stick to the cooling surface. The contaminated water flows down on the cooling surface or the surface of frozen tritium water adhered to the cooling surface so that frozen tritium water is produced, whereby the tritium water is separated from the contaminated water thereby to remove the tritium from the contaminated water.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
