PURPOSE: To reduce a mechanical noise by constituting a reduction gear mechanism which rotates a fixed plate and a rocking rotary plate, being opposed with an optional tilt angle and a rotational phase difference, as engaging them gradually via an engaging means contacting in the axial direction.
CONSTITUTION: When an input shaft 4 is rotated, a cylindrical swash plate 6 is also rotated, and a rocking rotary plate 19 is made into conical motion via a sliding member 22. Then, a contact point between the spherical head of a driving pin 18 and a round head guide hole 23 is successively shifted in a direction of rotation with a semispherical projection 20 as the center. At this time, a reduction gear ratio grows larger in proportion as a tilt angle of the rocker rotary plate 19 to a fixed plate 16 becomes lessened, thus transfer torque is increased too. Thus, contact between the fixed plate 16 and the rocking rotary plate 19 is carried out in the axial direction and fitting between a sphere and a round hole, so that there is no deviation between these plates themselves, thus a mechanical noise becomes lessened.
