Title:
RECORDING MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3954778
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance conversion efficiency and increase a recording density while sufficiently suppressing low frequency components of a modulation signal in a signal recorded on the recording medium.
SOLUTION: As a conversion table for directly converting an 8-bit code system to be inputted into a 16-bit code without using margin bits, a partially duplicated one is used. Input signal values of a table T1a are doubled in the codes corresponding to 0-87 and those of a table T1b, and this double part is configured so that a pair of positive and negative counter codes are reversed to each other in the amount of the change in the digital sum variation and also their absolute values are approximately the same, and is further configures that the codes having large absolute values of the change in the above-mentioned digital sum variation are distributed to obtain a recording medium where signals are recorded by using this conversion table.
