PURPOSE: To provide rear wheel steering characteristics adaptive to an inherent operation feeling by a method wherein when a base body for supporting rear wheels is supported to a car body through a plurality of links, at least the link form an extensible link having an extensible shaft, a spring through the force of which the extensible shaft is energized in an extension direction, and a set pressure regulating device for the spring.
CONSTITUTION: A base body 2 (a brake shield rear) to support rear wheels 1 is supported to a car body 9 through two links 3 and 4. The link 3 on the front side forms a constant length link and the link 4 on the rear side forms an extensible link wherein the same length as that of the link 3 on the front side is set to a maximum length and the link is shortened when a pressure higher than a set pressure is exerted. The extensible link 4 comprises an extensible shaft 12, a spring 13 through the force of which the extensible shaft 12 is energized in a longitudinal direction, and a set pressure regulating device 14 to regulate the set pressure of the spring 13. As a result, steering characteristics adaptive to a self-operation feeling and workmanship can be set. When a pressure exerted at the side G on the extensible link 4 is increased to a value higher than a set value, steering in an opposite-phase to the steering direction of front wheels is carried out.
