Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device capable of displaying a high-quality stereoscopic image with simple configurations.SOLUTION: A projection type display device configured to project a parallax image formed from light having mutually different wavelength bands to a projected surface to make a stereoscopic image observable comprises: a fly-eye lens (a first fly-eye lens 2 and a second fly-eye lens 3) to which light from a light source 1 is made incident; a narrow band wavelength transmission characteristic element 4 having wavelength transmission characteristics for transmitting light having a partial wavelength band among light having a specific wavelength band, and for reflecting light having the other wavelength band; a condenser lens 6 for condensing light transmitted through the narrow band wavelength transmission characteristic element 4; an image display element 7 for modulating the light transmitted through the capacitor lens 6, and for generating image light; and a projection lens 8 for projecting the image light generated by the image display element 7. The narrow band wavelength transmission characteristic element 4 is arranged between the light source 1 and the condenser lens 6.
