Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce methacrylamide of high quality from methacrylonitrile through a simplified process.
CONSTITUTION: The production process comprises (A) the first step where methacrylonitrile is hydrated into methacrylamide, (B) the second step where methacrylonitrile is separated from the aqueous methacrylamtde and (C) the final step where the aqueous methacrylamide is purified by bringing the aqueous solution into contact with activated carbon, cation-exchange resin and anion- exchange resin.
