Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain the subject compound useful for a raw material of an antibacterial agent, etc., without using any toxic solvent or reagent by selectively deacylating 7-acylamino-cephalosporanic acid with a microorganism belonging to genus Pseudomonas, or an enzyme derived from its product.
CONSTITUTION: This 7-amino-cephalosporanic acid expressed by formula II is obtained under a modest condition by subjecting a compound of formula I [R is H, OH or O-CO-R" (R" is a 1-4C alkyl); R' is COOH] to a selective deacylating reaction in the presence of a microorganism selected from the group consisting of Pseudomonas, Bacillus, Achromobacter genera (e.g. Achromobacber xylosoxidans 13/D7, NCIMB40407) or in the presence of an enzyme, either free or immobilized, derived therefrom, at 0.1-2% concentration and 20-40°C temperature.
