PURPOSE: To prepare the titled substance useful as a raw material of 7-methoxycephalosporin derivative, from the cultured product obtained by the cultivation of bacteria capable of producing the titled substance and belonging to Streptomyces minokamoensis.
CONSTITUTION: Bacteria capable of producing cephamycin C and belonging to Streptomyces genus, e.g. Streptomyces minokamoensis (FERM-P No.5668) (novel species) are cultured in a conventional medium for the cultivation of actinomycetes and containing glycerin, starch, soybean fluor, peptone, phosphates, vitamines, etc. under shaking or aeration, and the objective cephamycin C is separated from the cultured product by the conventional separation processes such as filtration, treatment with ion exchange resin, extraction with an organic solvent, etc.
