Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve torque transmission characteristic with a simple structure by compressing operation oil in an operation chamber by a screw pump when input and output shafts are differentially rotated, and by controlling the transmission torque according to the rotational speed difference of the shafts by hydraulic repulsion.
CONSTITUTION: When differential rotation is generated between input shafts 11 and 13, and a sun gear 3 is rotated earlier than a case 9, a pinion gear 5 meshed with the gear 3 and a pinion gear 7 meshed therewith are revolved in the same direction. However, the rotational speed of pinion housing ports 5, 7 of the case 9 is slower than the revolving speed of the gears 5, 7, so that the gears 5, 7 are rotated having friction with the housing ports 21, 23. Operation oil in an operation chamber 35 is compressed by a screw pump 37 formed in an area (a) where the gear 5 is meshed with the gear 7. The gear 7 is pressed axially by the repulsion thereof. Then the gear 5 is meshed with the gear 3 with their meshing surfaces pressing to each other. The gears 5, 7 are pressed to inner peripheral surfaces of the housing ports 21, 23 by the meshing repulsion for increasing frictional torque. Transmission torque can thus be controlled according to rotational speed difference between the input and output shafts.
