The positioning structure of the member for the vehicle includes: a cylinder block 4; a timing chain cover 40; knock pins 31, 32 provided at the cylinder block 4; knock holes 41, 42 provided in the timing chain cover 40 and having reference surfaces 50, 51, 52 on which the knock pins 31, 32 abut; and plate springs 45, 46, 47 provided in the knock holes 41, 42 to press the knock pins 31, 32 to the reference surfaces 50, 51, 52. The cylinder block 4 and the timing chain cover 40 are constituted by fitting the knock pins 31, 32 into the knock holes 41, 42.
