Manufacturing cost of the cylinder block for the internal combustion engine having horning applied on a cylinder bore inner surface after formation of spray deposition is reduced by using ferrous spray material as spray deposition material. As surface characteristics of the spray deposition after horning, average roughness Ra is set to 0.5μm or less, depth Rvk of oil reservoir in a roughness curve is set to 0.8 μm-2.6 μm, and a ratio Mr2 of load length is set to 78-90%. Consequently, improvement in the friction coefficient and scuff resistance of the cylinder bore inner surface is materialized.
