Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a flange joined to a pipe in another method than welding, allow an eccentric angle to the pipe and expansion and ensure sealing between both piping connections of a wafer type butterfly valve with no possibility of forcing pressure to the end face of a seat ring especially during pipe insertion.
SOLUTION: The end face of a joint mainbody 7 having a piping connection 7a, an intermediate cylindrical portion 7b and an end cylindrical portion 7c integrally formed is put in contact with both pipe connection faces of a wafer butterfly valve mainbody 1 and fastened and fixed to the valve mainbody 1 with a long bolt 8. An endless packing 9 is stored in an annularly recessed groove formed in the inner periphery of the joint mainbody and inserted and fixed into the outer periphery of a pipe 6 with a sealing allowance. A fixed ring 10 on which a ring sinking comb is formed at its inner periphery contacting the outer periphery of the pipe 6 is stored and inserted therein and axially thrust against the other end 17 of the joint mainbody 7 via a ring holder 15 to fix the pipe 6 with the joint mainbody 7.
