PURPOSE: To easily and quickly observe a screen by selecting plural video RAMs storing the data of a frame closest to a desired frame and reproducing the frame when a frame of a slightly preceding time with respect to the designated frame is reproduced.

CONSTITUTION: The output of a picture data storage means 33 and an output of a stored picture data storage means 36 are selected in response to the output of a stored picture data read write control means 27 and a display output signal is outputted externally. Then every time a designated number comes after the reproduction of a refresh data frame while a data frame is being reproduced, a picture data of a frame completed at that time is stored in other plural video RAMs, and when the frame of a slightly preceding time is reproduced, the data of a frame closest to the frame is reproduced from the stored video RAM. Thus, even when the reproduction from a medium in which interval of refresh data frames is long, a preceding frame at the current reproduction point of time is easily reproduced with a short time.
