Abstract:
Per(3,6-anhydro)cyclodextrin derivatives (I) or (II) are new. Per(3,6-anhydro)cyclodextrin derivatives of formula (I) or (II) are new. R1 = OCONHR2, OCONH(CR5R6)mNHCOOR7, OH, OR3, SH, SR3, OCOR3, NH2, NHR3, NR3R4, CONH2, CONHR3, CONR3R4, CN, COOR3, OCH2COOH, COOH or R3; R2 = an aliphatic group; R3, R4 = optionally halo-substituted aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbyl optionally containing O, S and/or N; R5, R6 = H or aliphatic groups; R7 = a per(anhydro)cyclodextrin glucoside or maltoside unit; m = 1-20; n = 6-8; and provided that at least one of R1 is OCONHR2 or OCONH(CR5R6)mNHCOOR7. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a process for preparing (I) and (II); (2) polymer (III) produced by reacting (I or II; R1=OH) with a diisocyanate of formula OCN(CR5R6)mNCO; (3) binding and separating ions by contacting an ion-containing medium with (I)-(III); (4) pharmaceutical composition for decontaminating a living being by removing chromium or manganese ions, comprising (I)-(III); (5) complex of chromate (CrO42-), bichromate (Cr2O72-) or permanganate (MnO4-) ions with (I)-(III).
