To provide an operation monitoring system capable of safely and securely determining whether a disconnecting switch is in normal operation.
There is provided an operation monitoring system 1 for a disconnecting switch 100 including a rotary insulator 101, a blade 103 having a movable contact part at an end fitted to an upper end of the rotary insulator 101, and a fixed insulator 107 having a fixed contact part 109 at an upper end fixed to a fixed seat plate, the operation monitoring system 1 including a sensor 7 fitted between the fixed seat plate and the bottom surface of the fixed insulator and detecting a load placed on a bottom surface of the fixed insulator, a measuring device 9 measuring the load placed on the bottom surface of the fixed insulator in circuit closing operation and/or in circuit opening operation through the sensor 7, and a determination device 5 determining whether the disconnecting switch 100 is in normal operation from the load, placed on the bottom surface of the fixed insulator in circuit closing operation and/or in circuit opening operation, that the measuring device 9 obtains and a predetermined threshold.
